Kate Cairns, sister of Eilidh Cairns who was tragically hit and killed by an HGV in Notting Hill in 2009 gives an insightful interview for the see me save me campaign.

In short:

- HGVs make up 3% of the fleet, but they are involved in 14% of fatal collisions
- 400 people a year in Europe die because of HGV blind spots
- These deaths could be prevented with practical and affordable technology. Adding cameras, lane departure warning systems and emergency braking systems are straighforward and affordable.

Rollapaluza Pity the Fool mixed doubles

Mr T didn’t show, but Timmy Mallet, a smurf, He-Man, She-Ra and Dempsey and Makepeace, as well as Superted and the Dukes of Hazzard did. We were also there for the Rollapaluza mixed doubles ‘Pity the Fool‘ roller racing night at Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes.  More fool, Mr T, ‘cos he missed perhaps the best night out on offer in London.

Rollapaluza mixed doubles 2011

Bicycle images shot the arse out of the 2009 event and now it’s back, bigger and meaner. We’re shooting it again and will have all the action here. I pity the fool who misses this night.

Tweed Run 2011

We’re rather excited to have been invited to photograph the simply super 2011 Tweed Run again. Bicycleimages.com has shot every London Tweed Run since it started in 2009 and the opportunity to continue to support the tweed run in 2011 could not be missed. We will again have three photographers covering the entire event this year and will be posting images of dapper chaps and chappesses in all their stylish attire.

Rollapaluza Winter Hill Climb

Almost at the top...

The Rollapaluza Cycle Club celebrated Christmas… in January, and with a lung-stretching Hill Climb of London’s much loved/hated Swains Lane in Highgate.

A weigh-in, walkie-talkies (admittedly, with interference from some kids playing), and final result list that included a speed/weight ratio gave this relaxed event a touch of class.  The drink in the Flask afterwards helped, too.
